Support Campaign for Chattanooga Police Officers
Chattanooga, TN – 6/10/16
Harvest Bible Chapel Chattanooga, WMBW/Moody Radio Southeast, and Pierce Law Firm are teaming together to solicit donations of items to show our city’s support for our Chattanooga Police Department officers.
After an alarming increase in shootings in April, the Chattanooga Police Department responded with more officers on the streets, meaning longer hours and more work for the officers, who often are so busy they cannot stop for meals. The goal is to provide a show of appreciation through supplies of practical and useful nonmonetary resources for every officer.
Martin Pierce, attorney at Pierce Law Firm said “With the recent ramp-up of patrols, many police officers had their normal off-days or leave time cancelled, and others worked required overtime to keep our city safer. The sponsors wanted to show appreciation to our hard-working police force and also equip them with items that they can have at the ready going forward, as the need arises.”
We are thankful that the efforts of our City’s police officers directly resulted in decreased violent crime and property crime in April and the following weeks, so their commitment should be appreciated and respected by citizens.
There will be drop-off day on Thursday, June 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Harvest Bible Chapel Chattanooga, which is located off Gunbarrel Road near Hamilton Place Mall, at 1640 Joiner Road. Donations may also be dropped off at Pierce Law Firm, 4513 Hixson Pike, Suite 109, any weekday through Thursday, June 30, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Several companies in the Chattanooga area have already made donations to our Chattanooga police officers, including Chick Fil-A in Hixson, Zaxby’s, Top Flight, Wrigleys, Chattanooga Bakery, and First Tennessee Bank.
