Special Education Basic Rights & Responsibilities – Part 2
This workshop is designed for parents of children receiving special education services or that might need special education services. Come and gain a working knowledge of special education laws, including your role as a parent in the development of an appropriate education program (IEP) and how to be an effective partner with the school team in the process. If you have recently received a diagnosis or have a child just transitioning from the early intervention program into the school system, this workshop will be especially helpful. This is normally a three hour workshop, but will be divided into three one-hour Lunch & Learn opportunities. Our main topics for Part 2 will be the contents of an IEP document and who are the IEP team members.
This parent training event is the foundation for all of the other special education law trainings that LifeLine provides. While this is designed for families, educators and professionals are always welcome.
