Welcome to LifeLineFamilies.org!
For more than two years, LifeLine staff and board have planned LifeLine’s new website, considering ways to expand LifeLine’s online community.
We’ve researched ways to reach the ever growing number of families, educators, professionals, and churches who need our services. Our plan has been to increase resource availability around the clock and consolidate our email and Facebook groups. We discussed ways to make our processes more effective for getting information to the community and we have considered ways for families to more effectively reach us, even if English is not their primary language. We wanted families to be able to register and to pay for events online as well as to request support and services online. Our calendar was planned to inform the community of opportunities for training and support. We also realized that through the years some of our LifeLine families have moved to other communities, other states, and even other countries. As they have moved away from their support systems, a lifeline became more crucial. Our hope is that this website will shorten the distances between us, continuing to support, train, and provide resources to families both inside and outside the metro Chattanooga area.
Any project as large as this project has been would never have happened without many contributors. We are grateful to the Tennessee Disability Coalition’s Small Grants Program for their funding of this website’s creation. Jackie Leach has contributed dozens of hours over the last 15 months to helping us design, develop, and think through the website process from beginning to end. Without her guidance and expertise, this couldn’t have happened. To every family, professional, educator, and church representative who shared your vision, and then your opinions and ideas for improvement at various points throughout this process, we extend our gratitude. For our data entry volunteers with tired fingers and aching heads, we thank you! And to our LifeLine Families, who continue to provide lifelines to each other, we dedicate this effort.
