This workshop is designed for parents of children receiving special education services or that might need special education services. Come and gain a working knowledge of special education laws, including your role as a parent in the development of an appropriate education program (IEP) and how to be an effective partner with the school team in the process. If you have recently received a diagnosis or have a child just transitioning from the early intervention program into the school system, this workshop will be especially helpful. This parent training event is the foundation for all of the other special education law training that LifeLine provides. This is the basis for the ParentLink Mentor training.
While this workshop is designed for families, educators and professionals are always welcome.
Dinner & Childcare provided for those who register before midnight August 17, 2018. Contact Michal Jones at michaljones@walkerschools.org to arrange childcare.
