Coming to Knoxville this April is JOY! A Disability Conference.
This is a two-day conference to help equip churches and anyone affected by or passionate about disability to become IRRESISTIBLE to people affected by disability—Join pastors, disability ministry leaders, volunteers, those in the disability field, parents and caregivers. This conference will help all of those affected by disability to become more connected and educated.
LIFELINE IS PUTTING TOGETHER A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN GOING TO THIS CONFERENCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF CARPOOLING. Each person is responsible for registering on their own at the link below, but we are planning to ride together on the day of the event and share hotel accommodations. If you would like to attend with us, please let us know – lisa.mattheiss@lifelinefamilies.org. We will also need someone to help us with an exhibitor booth that we will have set up on that day as well.
Friday night will begin with worship alongside Christopher Duffley, as well as an introduction with our Keynote Speaker, Emily Colson.
Saturday, join us for keynote speakers, worship, lunch and three different workshop tracks to choose from: Starting disability ministry, established disability ministry, and a parent/caregiver tack. These workshops will be information-packed with knowledgeable speakers who are experts on disability from around Tennessee, including Lisa Mattheiss with LifeLine. On Saturday, exhibitors will be set up 30 minutes prior to and 30 minutes after the conference (8:00-8:30 AM and 3:30-4:00 PM). Stop by their booths to learn more about disability organizations in the community, as well as resources and businesses that specialize in helping families affected by disability. This is a great way to get connected right away!
We trust you will leave the conference with the knowledge, tools and resources to begin and/or continue a journey of becoming a church that is “irresistible” to families and individuals affected by disability, as well as with resources and new connections for caregivers and parents of those with disability.
Giveaway: We are giving away a Beyond Suffering Bible to those who register by February 19th.
