That’s why Mental Health Cooperative’s approach works, because we not only focus on your child’s unique needs but also on the needs of your family. We assist you in finding real solutions that work. Our goal is your goal — seeing your child happy and successful in school, family and social situations.

Special Education Basic Rights Workshop

stack_of_booksSpecial Education Basic Rights Workshop

This workshop is designed for parents of children receiving special education services or that might need special education services. Come and gain a working knowledge of special education laws, including your role as a parent in the development of an appropriate education program (IEP) and how to be an effective partner with the school team in the process. If you have recently received a diagnosis or have a child just transitioning from the early intervention program into the school system, this workshop will be especially helpful.  This parent training event is the foundation for all of the other special education law trainings that LifeLine provides. While this is designed for families, educators and professionals are always welcome.

Special Needs Ministry: Vacation Bible School (VBS) Staff Training

Vacation Bible School Staff i_heart_vbsTraining for Inclusion of Children with Special Needs

VBS season is just around the corner!  Before your church launches VBS this year, be sure that your staff is prepared to fully include children with special needs throughout the VBS week.

What are some inclusion strategies?

What are other churches doing?

How do you include a child who uses a wheelchair?

How do you include a child with autism?

What are the similarities or differences?

Join us for a general overview of VBS activities and ideas for successful inclusion of children with special needs in your church's Vacation Bible School program.   We will cover multiple types of disabilities and inclusion ideas for each.   Coming with a specific child in mind?  We'll end the night with a Question & Answer session.
